PADI Open Water Course

The first place to start is the open water course, this course is designed to take the student through the basics of scuba diving.

The course is split into 2 parts, the practical side will normally take part in the pool and progress into the sea or lake, the knowledge development will mean working through the book with an instructor.

Accreditation

Open Water accreditation is achieved after completing the practical and knowledge based objectives plus completeing 4 confinded water dives and 5 open water dives.

The knowledge development comprises 5 sessions and teaches about how pressure and air affects the body underwater, planning dives using the dive tables and what to do in an emergency. At the end of the knowledge development you will be required to take an exam based on what you have been taught.

Accreditation means that the diver can dive to a depth of 18 metres in open water.
